If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can only be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center.

The country surrounding the lake is true Alaskan wilderness, accessible only by bush aircraft. The hills and valleys around the lodge are perfect for hikes for all age and ability levels. The scenery is stunning and if you're there at the right time of year you may find yourself sitting in the middle of a patch of ripe wild blueberries.

Treks are usually from five to ten days and you'll be accompanied by an experienced guide the entire trip.

All hiking trips begin with a floatplane trip into the remote Talkeetna Mountains. Guests overnight at the lodge and are briefed on their hiking route and safety measures by their personal guide.

We offer food on our trips (Imagine a fresh salad and bottle of wine in the wilderness). Aircrafts are also used to transport hikers, allowing maximum flexibility in route planning.

Outlying cabins are within a day's hike of each other and provide warm, dry and comfortable shelter. Lakeside cabins are equipped with canoes or rowboats.

In July, canoe across the lake from one of our cabins and hike to the bear watch. Here you can watch the grizzly bears fishing for king salmon in the stream below. Photograph the moose, caribou, bears, fox and eagles in their natural settings.
