ITINERARY:
Day 1 - Put on your boots and join your guide for a trip to Red Rock country! Depart in the morning from Phoenix. Your destination today is Sedona, with its beautiful red rocks and colorful canyons. Enjoy a little time for browsing the many Southwestern art galleries before embarking on a Cowboy Experience. This evening event includes a sunset trail ride, wagon ride, steak cookout by campfire and western music under the stars. Overnight at Kokopelli or Kings Ransom.
Day 2 - Today, you'll travel through scenic Oak Creek Canyon on your way to Grand Canyon National Park. This wonder of the world is more beautiful than any photo can ever capture and you'll stop for your own photos along the way. Enjoy time on your own for a walk along the rim or just relax and take in the view. Overnight at Grand Canyon or Tusayan.
Day 3 - Explore the Grand Canyon on foot with your local naturalist guide. Your hiking expedition will last approximately five hours and cover between three and six miles depending on the abilities of the group. Remember that Grand Canyon hiking is somewhat strenuous and you should be in fit condition. The elevation change will be approximately 1,000 feet (305 meters). Please remember to bring adequate water and snacks. Later, enjoy the IMAX Theatre presentation, "Hidden Secrets of the Grand Canyon." Overnight at Grand Canyon or Tusayan.
Day 4 - This morning, you'll experience the wonder of the Grand Canyon from a comfortable front row seat in the sky, as you take a 25 to 30-minute helicopter tour. Tour the Dragon Corridor from a bird's eye view and take in the remarkable beauty of nature. Witness spectacular sights sights such as the Kaibab National Forest, the impressive Tower of Ra, or simply marvel at the widest and deepest part of the Grand Canyon. After your flight, you'll have a little additional time on your own at the Canyon before your guide meets you for your return trip to Phoenix.
Includes accommodations, western experience & cookout, admissions, Grand Canyon hiking excursion, IMAX ticket, helicopter flight, transportation, and professional guide service. Gratuities and meals (except dinner on Day 1) not included.
FAQ
--What kind of vehicles will I be traveling on?
We are proud to offer the finest fleet in the Phoenix area. Our brand new, full sized maxi-vans are all customized for touring, including individual seating, a center aisle, state of the art public address systems, hydraulic steps and many of them have video players. The windows are oversized for great views and all the vans are fully climate controlled. Our fleet also includes a 2000 model 24 passenger mini bus which is handicapped accessible. We have deluxe motor coaches available to accommodate large custom groups when necessary.
--What items can I bring on board?
Our vans are designed for 12 to 14 passengers. We have limited space for luggage and allow small overnight bags only on overnight tours. Any bags larger than 9 inches x 14 inches x 22 inches should be left with your hotel. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter. If you have a wheelchair or other necessary equipment, please notify us at the time of booking so we may make arrangements for your special needs. We have a cooler on board that small items such as medication or snacks may be refrigerated for your convenience. Anything you bring should be able to fit under your seat for the comfort and safety of everyone on board.
--What kind of weather should I expect?
Arizona's desert areas experience a warm, dry climate with only 7 inches of rainfall annually. Summer daytime temperatures average 95 to 102 degrees (35 to 39 Celsius); spring and autumn average 75 to 88 (24 to 31 Celsius) and winter, 65 to 70 (18 to 21 Celsius). Northern Arizona and the Grand Canyon range from 72 to 82 degrees in the summer (22 to 28 Celsius) to 25 to 45 degrees in the winter (-3 to 7 Celsius). Such diversity means great weather for touring any time of the year!
--What type of clothing should I wear?
We want you to be as comfortable as possible. Casual dress is suggested on all tours (shorts, jeans, comfortable shoes). Remember that the Grand Canyon is 20 to 25 degrees cooler than Phoenix, so layered clothing is suggested for winter months.
--What about meal stops?
Meal stops are included on the tour. Except where specifically noted as included, the cost of meals is not included in the tour price; however, meal stops are at moderately priced restaurants. Water and candies are included on all tours.
--Are gratuities included in the price of the tour?
Guide gratuities are not included in the tour price. Gratuities are given at the discretion of the passenger and are always welcome. Suggested gratuity is 10 to 15% of the tour price.
